Angela, as I said in my post, the reCAPTCHA was put on Inquiry forms last week. There's no miscommunication. It's definitely there, and it's already causing errors, which prevent inquiries from being submitted: "Verification expired. Check the checkbox again." I submitted a ticket for this weekend. It needs to be removed ASAP.
@Amanda Lietman can you forward where you saw that we implemented this on 3/23? I can track down the miss in communications if you saw that we released something for recaptcha last week. We actually removed recaptcha from all of our ed forms almost a year ago and implemented honeypot solution which is behind the forms, so not invasive to users. Can you log a support ticket so we can find out why you're seeing this? thanks!
The release on 3/23/2021 put reCaptcha on Inquiry forms for candidates. Ugh! We've never had a single spam inquiry in five years so this is really unnecessary and just annoying to prospective families. The "Select all the images with [traffic lights...]" on a phone are just a total hindrance to getting the job done and the inquiry submitted.
This is not necessary on forms that don't require payment processing. Would like the ability to remove it from custom forms. Users complain about it all the time. Often doesn't work.
The CAPTCHA for registration manager needs an update. First you click a button to prove you are a human and then you need to scan an image and use super powers to answer what seemly should be an easy task by clicking objects in an image such as signs, windows, trees, etc. BUT you always miss one or what you think is a tree, sign, car, etc. is not a tree, sign, car, etc.
Registering for an event should be easier. How about we have the option of just clicking a checkbox to say we are human (and skip the next step)?
I found a workaround for event registrations. If they are only for "Parents" or another role in WH, set the registration security to allow access from those roles only. Yes, it will require (in our case) parents to log into the internal web site, but the "I am not a robot" no longer shows up. I will post the link directly on the internal parent community web page we use for parent information and resources.
I agree. I thought it would only be used for credit card processing, but the registration I'm just setup is for charging student accounts (and therefore we wouldn't ship anything if we don't have a student account). This won't work for our international parents, and is very annoying for anyone.
Yes friendlier would be good. Oh and how about one that isn't from Google, cause you know Chinese firewalls don't like that. But its a good thing international parents don't send kids to boarding school ...
Agreed. Go back to a word and eliminate the pictures or just allow them to click the checkbox. At least give us the option to choose the type of captcha if it won't be a default. I spent 5 minutes recently trying to get past the captcha while testing a form while taking my time and looking at the pictures. Sometimes its immediate, other times it an absolute nightmare.
I would love the ability to change or even remove the captcha on public forms - I have multiple users experiencing difficulty passing the image test - this is impacting our ability to capture constituent data efficiently.

Definitely needs to be more user friendly. I have parents tell me that they just give up when they get to the CAPTCHA pictures. Help!

ignore my typos :)
It would really be great to get rid of this. Some of our parents are really confused by it and this that there is something wrong with our forms.
or make them user friendly to capture
