Official Notes and Learning Profiles -- Allow Attachments!!!

Hi, One of the biggest wishes of our Admin Team and Learning Specialists, is for Official Notes and Learning Profiles to allow attachments (specifically PDFs). At the moment, if a psyc assessment comes in by email or fax, it's always in PDF format. The Learning Specialists have to copy and paste information into Official Notes and Learning Profiles. This is inefficient and cumbersome to look at. It's much easier to read a report in it's original format. Thank you for your consideration, - Liz

    Admin response

File uploads are now available for Learning profiles.

With the functionality now available directly on Learning Profiles, I would love more information around remaining use cases for file uploads on Academic Official Notes. Please feel free to leave a comment on this idea with your use case or to email me directly at jacqueline.koca@blackbaud.com

    Thank you!

Our Learning Center support staff have a very particular format that they like to use, and that all of our teachers are familiar with. They basically take all the information on a student and distill it down to a 1-page format that teachers can review quickly. Right now, those get saved as PDFs and uploaded to the student record Files & Forms.

Teachers and advisors have to navigate to the student profile from Directory (because they can't access student Files & Forms from Academics or their Class/Group page roster) and then DOWNLOAD the student's Academic Support Plan (this is what we call our LPs). And now we have multiple versions of a static file floating around on teachers' laptops.

We have a 'placeholder' LP form that has nothing in it except a note instructing users to navigate to the student record > Files area to view the actual Academic Support Plan.

An ideal workflow would allow users:

    • Easy access to the LP flag in any group roster

    • Quick-check capability - hovering over the LP flag to get a quick view of which plan it is (description)

    • Ability to click on the LP flag to open the LP or navigate directly to it to view it without having to wait for a report to run

    • Ability to view files attached to the LP without having to download them...like a preview for the attached files

    • Ability to download files attached to the LP when necessary

    • Ability for Learning Profile Managers and Staff to control which roles can view and download files attached to LPs.

    Thanks for tackling this!

We need the option to make the attachments available to teachers for Learning Profiles.

first things first. Allow subject lines for notes submitted in Faculty persona. Allowing attachments just means more information is impossible to find.

This would be a big help for our various learning programs.

Would be great when we wish to send a notice to candidates regarding a special event at school or some new information where we need to attach a letter or an action item.

Hi agree with this idea! We have several children with medical diagnosis that require a learning profile. Having the original documentation on file would be ideal. Thanks for adding this to the features of BB.
