Tracking community service / volunteer hours
We'd like to be able to track community service hours with an interface that would allow us to incrementally add the hours served. Currently we use a grade book for this with all the students on the roster for that class. But there's no way to get it to show the hours instead of a percentage. In the short term, it would be nice to at least just be able to have an option to show a number totaling the hours served as opposed to only showing a percentage. I think just about every school documents this kind of data and it would be nice to have a feature built in for tracking this data.

There appears to be a consistent stream of requests for this feature across multiple years and the last admin update is over 2 years old. What gives? As mentioned in previous comments, this should not take much time/effort to implement and would apparently be widely used.

These appears to have been under consideration for many years when the truth is; it would not be that difficult to implement. New tab called community service; add events; add students; add hours; calculate and run a report.

We are new to Blackbaud. Recording family service hours was a feature with our previous system and is a feature we need going forward. I hope you add it soon so we don't have to create another system for our school and families. The survey link is not live for me to vote. Thank you.
We are in the process of migrating to Blackbaud … this will be something we will have to figure a solution for

Community service is a graduation requirement at our school and we currently use a 3rd party software to track it. It would be an assest if we could use Blackbaud for this purpose.
Please implement this as soon as possible. It would make a huge difference to us!

Our school would like parents to be able to enter their own volunteer hours (20 required per year, per family). Is something like this in the works? Or already exist and I just don't know about it? (Entirely possible as we are new to this) TIA!

This is something that is badly needed at our school. We need parents and students to be able to see how many hours have been completed and how many are still required (we have requirements for each grade level 9-12). Post-COVID, this has become a priority again for our school. Please consider this a high priority for Blackbaud.
I just completed the survey. Would love to see this implemented, even if it's something as simple as keeping track of total hours and having it viewable for students and their parents so they know where they stand at different points throughout the school year.
We are new to Blackbaud. We had this option when we were using FACTS. This is disappointing to know we don't have this option. I completed the survey already.
This would be incredibly helpful for our high school and would save having people get another app to manage these hours.
This feature was suggested in 2015. Why has it not yet been implemented? Many schools have a service hours requirement and it seems silly to have to use a different software program to track this, especially when we want it printed on report cards.
When you consider that tracking service hours is a core process that literally every school does, I can't believe this has not been a larger priority to address. The needs are not great here. Just give us a way to enter the date, description of service, Time (From - To), then total it up at the bottom. We need to be able to run a service hours report on the totals and a detail report by student, and lastly, have the student service hour total print on the report card transcript. I'm sure there are school that would like to do more than what I detailed above, but this would at least check the box for the majority of schools. The other option would be to build an integration with someone like x2vol that would allow the hours to be tracked there, and just send the total back over to the transcript/report card in some manner. This is really such a big need.
