The Parent Submit Attendance Review Screen allows admins to review attendance submitted by parents for their children. I have two recommendations.

First, the field labels are unclear. “Previous Attendance” should be “Previous Attendance Type,” “Reason” should be “New Attendance Type,” and “Comment” should be labeled “Reason.”

Second, admins should be able to edit both the New Attendance Type and Reason fields. For example, a parent may provide a very detailed explanation for absence when the admin only needs to record “Sick.” Similarly, a parent might report that a student will be late, but the situation may ultimately need to be recorded as absent from class.
