Allow viewing prior grades on report cards side by side when entering. Merged

Teachers should be able to see what grade they gave a student in a prior term, when they are entering anew grade for the new term.

We do grading three times per year and have to print out previous term report cards and mark them up manually before entering grades.  It would be a huge timesaver to be able to see last term’s grades, not to mention it would save a lot of paper.

I'd love to see this feature added! The workaround I've found is to ask our system administrator to create an Excel spreadsheet that shows all my students' previous semester grades (as a specialist subject teacher, I give marks across 5 grade levels). I then have to flip between this list of grades, Whipple Hill, and my current semester records for each child. This is really time consuming and cumbersome. Please, please, please add this feature!

This is a very high priority for our teachers.

There is an option to do this though the "page icon" to the left of the student name, however it is EXTREMELY time consuming to have to open a new tab to view the text/grade for each student and each grade plan (or K-4 teachers have about 5 grade plans). Our teachers currently have to have 3 programs open to enter 2nd semester grade: Blackbaud, a PDF of each of their students from the previous semester in a shared location (OneDrive) as well as a program to draft the text they want to enter into onRecord (we share though OneNote), so it can be proofed by an administrator before they bulk upload an item like a class narrative. Having the previous grade displayed next to the future grade would alleviate having the PDF open while evaluating each students term progress.

An email I received from a Lower School teacher, who asks me each time grading comes around whether this request is being considered. I'm posting this to underscore how teachers who teach for a full year to the same class need to be able to easily assess whether there has been progress in specific areas over time.

    Hi Liz,

Is there any progress with Whipple Hill in terms of seeing the semester 1 grades RIGHT NEXT TO the new June semester grade...side by side, so that teachers can see growth and choose the correct grade?

It baffles me that as an educators resource, they have not figured out a way to do this for teachers.  It is the essence of teacher grading....seeing growth from one semester to the next.

It would be amazing if this could be done without scrolling through 50 pages of term 1 report cards and flipping between two different screens.

Who can I contact about this?

Our teachers have asked for this on numerous occasions
