Add a field for section-specific information in the system that will display to students when they are registering for classes.
We have some sections that have different topics and some with different registration end dates that would be helpful to display to the student instead of just adjusting the cap so they can no longer register. Additionally, in our old system we were able to offer different sections to select audiences (all changes could be made at section level and not course level). We can't do that now so we have to create duplicate courses with letters on the end of the course code to allow only certain populations access.
I would love some examples of the types of information that would be section specific. We have a project in 2023 that is going to cover allowing sections to have different names from the main course (Topic classes) and would love to see if we might be able to group in some additional improvements to address this idea.
Agreed, this is critical functionality as certain information only pertains to section-level groups, and is not appropriate to include in the course description.
