Handle Profile Updates from May 2021 - Filter Options

While the new handle profile changes view is more l like the SKY UX than the old view, there are a number of issues that our admin staff have pointed out. Please add the filter options back!

  • All Profile Changes are displayed in a list without any initial filtering

  • All parent records are listed as Parent and not separated as Parent of Candidate or Parent of Incoming Student

  • All student records are listed as student and not separated as Candidate or Incoming Student

  • Once you open the record to be handled and close it, all filters are removed and you are sent back to the main list with all changes

  • When you apply a filter, you cannot mark the record as being acknowledged (handled). You have to go back to the main list with all changes and find the ones you want to acknowledge (handle)

Yes, I agree, not necessarily more filter but when viewing the list we need to see Parent vs. Parent of a Candidate. I've attached a screenshot to show where I'm talking about. If it is only a Parent of a Candidate, I can handle the changes, but when I only see Parent, we have to look up to see if they are a current Parent, Past Parent, Parent of a Candidate, etc.. Thank you!

I agree that noting candidate versus student and parent of candidate versus parent is vital. For active students and parents, I share the updates with others as needed. For candidates, changes are not important unless the parent is also an alum.

In the "Roles" filter, "Select all" only includes the roles listed on the page, which is only 6. It takes forever to select every role and then filter OUT the candidates. Is there a better way to handle the filtering? Ideally, we'd want to pull everyone EXCEPT those related to candidates, so selecting every role, then unselecting candidates, takes a long time each day.

hey Lori! oh ya sure thing, that's easy peasy. We would have to export it as a comma delimited column though since users can have more than one role so you'd still have to do a 'contains' filter on your end. Does that work?

Thanks for the reply! Can we get the distinction in the Export file, as well, please? I usually dump all of the week's changes into a spreadsheet. Currently, Column H lists parent or student or faculty, etc. It would be great if it could be specific (parent of candidate, candidate, etc.) Thank you for considering this!

Hi all, I believe we've made all of the updates listed in the initial request here at this point as well as in the comments. @Lori MacConnell - we initially only had the persona filter, we've since added the roles filter. You can filter on whichever student/parent populations you're looking for with that. Closing this one out. If there are additional changes needed let's open a new one so we can track those as new. Thanks and hope that helps!

Being able to filter current vs. candidate students/parents would be VERY helpful.

I would also like to keep the columns with the User ID and Host ID for the export as we use those to help with getting the information to our other systems.
