Keep Past Student role for past students who become candidates

I would like constituents who were past students who then become candidates to keep the "past student role" along with candidate.

Very important! We have a couple entry points into our school and this is key!

Each year we have past students that apply. This should be easy for us and it is not. We desperately need this feature.

Also need to keep student role for current students (in the 8th grade of our middle school) who become 9th grade candidates for our high school.

This would be a crucial feature for us to have, please consider implementing it.

This is very important. Our Advancement Office is unable to reach out to the correct constituents for alum and past students, because these students are now coded as past candidates.

It should be noted that it is possible to change a user from Past Candidate to Past Student. Instructions can be found here: https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/117203

and one more very important thing is now that the past student is a candidate or past candidate, you are no longer able to find them in On Record and pull the transcript this way.

In addition, if the student comes back later in life and applies for their child, on Board will not show the community connection of this now parent having attended the school.

Yes this is very important. What we are finding is happening is that past students reapply and they change to candidate and lose their past student role, and then if they do not enroll they because a past candidate. They never regain their past student role. This is a very import role to have for our Advancement Office.
