Ability to advance to next status without having to waive unrequired checklist items
We would like the option to not have to waive items on a checklist if the steps are not required

Checklist step complete to Applicant Status
Merged We want the applicant's status to change to "Completed" whether or not the candidate attends the Open House.0

Make and applicant enter the Applicant Status as soon as their appication is processed without having to waive items.
Merged Right now, we'd like an inquiring family to be able to sign up for events and/or tours through their checklist before they apply; however we also want someone who applies to be able to sign up for these items too, so we don't want to have to waive...1

Yes. We're encountering this as well. Having status entirely tied to what has been complete or waived is very frustrating.
This is a huge issue. Steps that are marked as not required should be able to be skipped over. We should be able to track outstanding internal items on the checklist by leaving them in the "requested" status and have the candidate continue to move through the process. Quite frustrating.
