Creating an 'overall progress rubric' which combines assignments marked individually to show a concentrated result.

In order to make reporting after a term (or over a marking period) easier with rubrics is it possible to view all the rubrics together to quickly decide an overall “grade” for that student on each skill when they have multiple pieces of work that have been marked according to the rubric. The current is to open every rubric for a student (or to keep a paper master, or electronic on different software) in order to work out an overall “grade”.

A 'heat map' type of display, so each time a student achieves a “grade” on the scale it shades the box a different or increasingly dark colour. Effectively it would be like layering the rubrics on top of each other and if the student has not achieved or not been marked in a specific skill it remains white/transparent.

e.g. a student has three assignments all marked on the same rubric which has a four point scale for the skill of Questioning. On assignment 1 the student achieves “better” however on assignment 2 and 3 they achieve “best”. Each rubric would be filled in individually on each assignment. Then it would be possible to view an “overall progress” rubric. In this one Better is blue as it has been achieved once, however “best” is a green colour (slightly hotter) because it has been achieved twice (and then yellow and red getting hotter or whatever colours are chosen).
