adding the ability to upload documents to learning profiles
It would be super helpful to be able to upload documents, such as IEPs, 504s, neuropsych evaluation summaries to learning profiles for easy access by teachers.
Our goal is to eventually give you all the ability to share these files with a subset of faculty/staff. However, before those updates can happen, there are a series of UX-related changes we have to make that we're not ready to tackle just yet. For now, like Josceline pointed out, these files are only accessible to Learning Profile Managers and Staff.
I wonder if the Learning Profile Staff role could be tweaked to provide a task for 'Learning profile manage files' (current task 55415) that provides a 'Learning Profile view files' task.
And then maybe this new task could be added to the Teacher role???
Or at least this would give us the ability to clone the Learning Profile Staff role and strip it down in order to provide access to view the uploaded LP files without being able to manage them (add or delete them).
I vote yes. We have documents beyond the learning plans/summaries that really help our teachers understand our students better, and easier access to those documents ensures they get read more often.
Some progress was made on this in the most recent release, but the teachers are unable to see any of the documents that are uploaded which defeats the purpose. We need to be able to upload certain documents that a teacher can see. For instance our students write about their accomodations to help the teachers understand what works for them. PLEASE PLEASE
This is what the release noted
With this release, Learning Profile Managers and Learning Profile Staff can now upload file attachments to learning profiles. Learning profile documents may contain sensitive information, so the files, as well as the upload option, are not accessible when impersonating. Additionally, the files are only accessible to users with the Learning Profile Manager or Learning Profile Staff roles.
Users can upload files when adding a new learning profile for a student. They can also upload files to existing learning profiles from a student’s Performance tab by selecting the context menu next to the learning profile, then Edit.
The Learning profile tile on a student’s Performance tab also indicates whether any files are associated with a learning profile. To view the files, Learning Profile Managers and Staff select the context menu next to the learning profile, then View files.
Learning Profile Managers and Learning Profile Staff can select graphs in the Learning Center to open flyouts with additional details, such as student grade levels, parent emails, links to student profiles, and links to edit a student’s learning profile. These flyouts are not accessible while impersonating.
Hi Folks -
Just wanted to log a quick note here.

A 'Publish to Teachers' checkbox on each attached file would do the trick!

I vote yes. The more information we can share securely, the better.
