Allow students to post their own assignments in the assignment center

Many of our students wish they could add their own items to the assignment center to help them remember things that might not be an assignment assigned by a teacher. For example, if they have to submit a form to their counselor or return a permission slip, etc. Generic things that might be on a to-do list. Students would like to be able to add things to their assignment list on their own.

Great news! Over the summer we added the ability for Students to add their own to do tasks to the Assignment Center. I'm hearing very positive responses to this new feature, but let me know if we still need to continue to iterate on this.

There is a glitch with this feature. When a student adds a task and tries to assign it to a specific class category, the task gets added as a General Task. If you edit the task and try to save again, it still keeps it as a general task.

Our students have also asked for this feature. Maybe advisories and activities could also make assignments?
