This would be very useful for when a student comes in late and has their attendance type changed from absent to tardy so that we could better track and account for our students.
Hello all! We are exploring surfacing the audit history of attendance entries and we have two questions we'd love input on:
Who would typically need to see this information?
Where (what screen or modal) would you expect to be able to see the information on?
Thanks so much!

Hi - in our world, I'm the office admin and attendance manager and create reports about student attendance events - not just absent and tardy, but who arrived late, who often arrives late, who left early for appointments, etc. Because there are many student who have more than one attendance event in a day and we capture that info and provide administration reports on it, it all has to be done manually in Excel, AFTER exporting the Blackbaud report. This defeats the purpose of having a pre-crafted report, since it will never be accurate without my manual tweaking. As to the modal/screen this would be in - it should I think be a separate report that can capture at least who had changed entries. In addition, if there was a way to create a duplicate record in the student Attendance view on the dashboard, so a 2nd entry was allowed for a student, that would be helpful.
Who would need to see this information:
Attendance manager
Teachers
Parents
Advisor
Nurse
Everyone who can see attendance
Where would you expect to see the information:
Everywhere attednance is currently visisble

I think the list from Erin Caprielian looks pretty comprehensive. I support making this a reportable field that can be pulled into Sky Lists and Advanced Lists.
Attendance manager, administrative roles (but we could add Attendance Manager as part of their role). I also like the idea that others have of it being able to be seen by advisors (and parents?)
2. The list that Erin Caprielian has looks comprehensive and well thought out. I support that list!
Teachers, homeroom advisors, attendance managers, assistant principals and principals.
In addition to viewing the timestamp, it needs to be a reportable field that can be pulled into Sky Lists and Advanced Lists.
1.
Attendance Manager
Attendance Editor
Advisor
Nurse
anyone who has permission to run Attendance reports

Academics > Attendance > Class attendance > add as a column
Academics > Attendance > Student Attendance > add as a column
Academics > Attendance > Day attendance > add as a column
Academics > Attendance > Student attendance statuses > lsit as a line under the Status text
Reports > Attendance > Absence Analysis > Absence Audit History (include User ID for student, name, "From" status, "To" status, timestamp, and Changed By User ID and name)
Student Profile > Progress > Attendance Summary > area where date is expanded to show detail
Student Profile > Progress > Attendance Summary > Work with attendance entries > Today's Schedule
In response to Shannon:
I think the bare minumum, (b) Attendance Managers and (e) Advisors need to be able to see the information.
This information should be present on (a) Student Profiles under Attendance Summary and the (b) Attendance Dashboard so attendance managers can see any changes made throughout the day. I personally don't think that showing the change on Reports is entirely necessary, as long as the Reports default to the most recent edit of the attendance.
Who would typically need to see this information?
Dean of Students
Attendance Manager
Nurse
Academic Dean
Advisor
Where (what screen or modal) would you expect to be able to see the information on?
Student's Profile under Attendance Summary
Attendance Dashboard

We would like this to include an audit log: who made the change and when?
This is helpful to know for school trips too. If you bulk added attendence and then a student left early it would be helpful to know when, at what time, and for what reason.
PLEASE Add This
Time stamps would make a huge difference for teachers to know when students have arrived to school, especially when they are taking class attendance.
An attendance change audit log is really what we're after, but this would help immensely.
Editable, please.
This would be awesome in conjunction with this idea: https://blackbaudk12.ideas.aha.io/ideas/K12OR-I-790
Student comes in, scans his idea and attendance can be changed with an auto added time stamp.
