The ability to scan student ID's as a method for processing attendance

Since our student id cards have the student ID bar coded on them already it would be great to be able to process large tardy groups by scanning id cards.  For example when a bus arrives late due to traffic or some other unforeseen event, all students have to be processed manually in the main office and/or the dean's office.  The ability to scan in students arrival time directly would be a tremendous time saver for those in charge recording students as tardy.  Not to mention getting the students to class quicker.

Our old system was able to do this, we have kind of downgraded since Blackbaud cannot scan students in as tardy. We are using a third party check-in system now that we have to pay extra money for, and it only syncs one way (to Blackbaud, not back and forth), and sometimes doesn't sync properly.

Yes, that would be a time saver. We now have a person at the door checking in late students. Scanning the ID would be great.

This would be a huge time saver for our school and would allow for reduced contact during COVID. Our old system was capable of this.

This seems like a no brainer to me.  We too have students arrive late and fall into a line to be processed manually.  To scan our ID Card, which includes Student ID # would be BRILLIANT.  Lets get on this!
