I would like days to default to be on without students seeing duplicate assignments

Turning days to default on allows me to let teachers see their courses for a few days after the term ends to record grades and review information, which is very helpful. However, it also causes students to see enrollments for both terms, meaning their assignments in multi-term classes show twice.

If days to default is set to 0, The assignments don't duplicate, but teachers of single term courses have to use the View Other Classes drop down to find their courses after the term ends.

I know this is an old idea, but I agree that days to default should not show duplicate assignments. If days to default can't be used to let teachers see the previous semester of classes (so they can submit grades even though the next semester has started) without causing issues, then days to default is really pointless. I understand they could go to View Other Classes, but that is an unnecessary extra few steps and it is far more confusing for our less tech-savvy teachers.

Another solution would be to show all classes for the year (both semesters) to be displayed all the time, with designation for (F) or (S) so that teachers can easily access any class at any time during the year, Especially toward the end of the first semester when they are trying to get their Semester 2 class ready, it's very inconvenient to not have those classes in the "Classes" dropdown.

I had to change the start date of Semester 2 for teachers to be able to get to their class pages easily before the semester started.

Thanks for entering this, Tim.  I think the best option would be to prevent the duplicate assignments--because as you say, it is useful to to use "days to default" for one semester classes.
