Allow refresh of database

Sometimes I make an important change which I cannot see reflected on the website, or directory, until that evening's refresh occurs. I would like to be able to force a refresh of the database.

      I'm not sure what is meant here.

      Do you mean something like adding a role to a user and not seeing that reflected immediately in *all* active connections to the database?  [i.e. not just in the analyst's connection].   This is a serious issue.  I've waited as long a 15 minutes for an update to be 'propagated' so that I was seeing a current snapshot.   This despite: clearing cache, using a complete outside network, etc..
