Bulk update to old distribution groups in user profiles

I would like a way to refresh the Bulk Email lists users see in their profiles (Settings > Notifications > Bulk Email). Currently, if a user is no longer on a list (Distribution Group), a PushPage must be sent to that List/Group in order for the system to see that user is no longer on it, and remove the List from under their Bulk Email section. Our users find this confusing, as they see "old" Lists here, that they are no longer part of. I would like a way to refresh these dynamically so we can see our current subscriptions/lists.

6 YEARS AND THIS IS STILL A PROBLEM!!!! I'm starting to wonder if anyone is even reading these at all.

It was the issue that we are dealing with the parents everyday and it is confusing the parents. They are on the distribution list that no longer included but the checked box still active. It was back to the Whipplehill time that they never fix. Please fix it asap.

Is this true? I was unaware and if so, solves a lot of issues!
