We successfully used the online course request module for our academic courses last spring. We are currently giving the course request module a try with activity (clubs for us) sign up. One thing that is troublesome is our "hidden" groups. When we use the online request module, students see ALL of the groups they are enrolled under the "Selected requests" even if they are not given access via the group page access to view the group. It would be very helpful if we could truly "hide" some of the groups from the online sign-up. Support provided me with a tip to make the activities "Inactive" so that they would be unable to sign up for them which is great to keep the list of available clubs appropriate, but students can still see those enrollments even though they are inactive and there is no group page access given.
We are trying Course Requests to sign up for clubs this week. I've run across the same problem of certain activities still being listed. According to support, we would have to un-offer these activities but since we use them internally, that wouldn't be an option.
Any progress on this request?
Case #020484390: I Just want to clarify, inactivating a course or group only prevents it from being offered in the future. If you’d like to ensure that courses or groups no longer appear in course requests, they will need to be un-offered manually.
Please follow the steps below:
Navigate to Academics > Scheduling
Go to Requests and Schedules
Filter on Activities
Select Offer Activities
Click the Delete link next to the activity you no longer wish to offer
Once completed, the course/group will no longer appear in course request options.
