On the progress page for a student, default the information to the current quarter.
When you go to the progress page for a student, the grade details and underlying information assignments defaults to the previous quarter. It should default to the current quarter.0

Let the gradebook calculate a running grade for the year.
Computers are literally calculators, therefore it is INSANE that there is no way within the portal to calculate an average for the year. I have used multiple other gradebooks, and they always had that feature.0

Have a default assignment type

Student Team Captains and Managers Drop Down in Roster
It would great to be able to designate a student a team manager or Team Captain of a sport. It would be even better if that then reflected on their transcript. Also the ability to name an adult an assistant coach would be helpful as well.1
