When medications are entered to medical forms, there should be an option to enter the time of day if the medication is to be administered during the school day. There should also be a medication reminder (to the teacher and the nurse) for students who take scheduled medication during the school day, allowing the nurse or health care staff to quickly document the time a medication is given and a text box for notes or to enter the reason the medication was not given (absent, refused, not indicated, etc.).
