I could be wrong, but I think the purpose of room types is more to generally to identify if a room is a library vs. a classroom vs. a lab.  Not necessarily differentiate between a science classroom and academic classroom.  I do see there are those options, but we use room types more generally to identify what it is, not necessarily what specific academic classes take place there.

Hadn't thought of this, but maybe room types could be altered to be treated as "tags" often are in other systems.  That way you could apply multiple tags to different rooms to accomplish the above.
