Pass/Fail Enrollment Type Shouldn't Be Calculated in GPA

When Blackbaud added the ability this fall to change the enrollment types for students in each course, it was a welcome feature and saved a lot time designating students who are taking a class pass/fail while everyone else in the class is taking it as a graded course. Unfortunately, even though a P or F is displayed correctly on report cards and transcripts, the system still uses whatever the teacher recorded as the letter or numerical grade in the GPA calculation. For instance, if our teachers record any passing letter grade, then the system converts it to a P, but uses the entered grade in the GPA calculation. This makes no sense. If a student is taking a class pass/fail, it should not be included in the GPA calculation. Now I need to create new classes and use the pass/fail grade plan - essentially resort to the old way of doing it - so that the pass/fail is not included in the GPA. Please fix this, else, eliminate the pass/fail enrollment option.
