More formatting control in general for assessment report cards would be helpful.  The current report card builder does not allow you to modify the font of just the course name. If you increase and/or bold, it also does so to the comments.

Depending on how you have your groupings set, you can increase the "courses/groups gird subgrouping style" to increase the assessment type headings, but then they are now larger than the course name.
