New Report Card & Transcript- Needs to display Courses after a student is withdrawn.

We do NOT want dropped courses to appear, but if you choose not to show dropped courses, then any student that withdraws during the year, even if it is after first semester grading period ends, if the course is a full year course, their report card and transcripts are now blank. This is a major issue for schools because if you ever have a new person employed as registrar and they are pulling a past student's report card and transcript, they would assume they only took single semester courses because those are the only ones that will display. Our current work around is to download a paper copy of the report card and transcript and put it in the student file, but this isn't the best work around.

My work around would be to enter the grades earned for year long classes as transfer credit. Semester classes would appear if student departs in sem2.

This is a huge issue for me as well. There needs to be a separate way to handle withdrawn courses that show grades for a 1st semester and a W for second semester or to show a W for the whole year while also not showing dropped courses.

There is a distinction between withdrawing from a course and dropping a course. Withdrawing from a course means you want the course to appear on the report card and transcript with a grade. A dropped course means that student chose not to take the course and it should not appear on a report card or transcript. This distinction is available on your other product Education Edge.

We just started using the new transcript and this is a major issue. We had two students not return in January. When they were withdrawn, their fall year-long classes were removed from the transcript even though they were completed with grades and credit earned. I even tried to drop the classes after the fall term and prior to doing the system withdrawal of the student, hoping that the system wouldn't remove the record when I withdrew the student, but this did not work. It is important that the system maintain the exact record and that we don't have to figure our work-arounds to address this. The old transcript builder had no problem handling this. Please don't ignore this issue - it needs to be fixed!!!

My workaround is removing dropped courses from student's records but if there are any grades in the grade book those have to be removed first as does any absences recorded. It is time consuming and doesn't really maintain the integrity of a student's record. I don't understand why we have to ask that this be considered when the Old Report card builder handled this without issue.
