Allow modification of blocks after attendance has been recorded.
In today's release notes, 9/11/23, it was announced that "For classes that have Attendance recorded, the block and meeting time can no longer be edited." We have an enrichment rotation in which we change blocks every few weeks for several classes. Please consider allowing schools to modify blocks and meeting times even after attendance has been recorded like we have been able to do up until this point.

Hi all!
I want to include the original information as to why this information was changed: It was necessary to reduce 'disconnected' or 'orphaned' attendance entries that were caused when the meeting time associated with an attendance entry no longer exists. This caused discrepancies in attendance reporting throughout the system.Thank you everyone that provided information on your use cases for needing to change the blocks. Based on those use cases we were able to determine an alternative implementation. As of 10/31/23, blocks on class sections will be editable again. When you change a block, it will only update future meetings, while leaving the past meetings at the original time. Thus, attendance will stay associated with an actual meeting, while still allowing the flexibility to make adjustments when something changes partway through the term.

If there was an option to turn this off, maybe but to be forced to remove potentially days of attendance to correct a minor schedule issue is completely absurd!

I emailed Jacqueline as prompted by her email and this post and never heard back. I'm curious if anyone else heard from her. This update is still a huge pain and has caused so much unnecessary work.

This update needs to be changed for the same reasons others have mentioned. To have to remove attendance for every day in order to make adjustments is inefficient and time consuming.

PLEASE change this back. We have a schedule that changes 4xs per year and when those changes happen, it requires me to change blocks. If I can't change blocks, I would have to create different classes and then the grade books would be disconnected. This is essential. We also have a number of special days where we make modifications to blocks. Please help!

PLEASE remove this update as soon as possible. my school is on a rotation and I cannot edit a meeting time now. I will have to remove attendance for over 500 students and then repost the attendance.

I pray that Blackbaud listens and removes this update immediately. We constantly have to adjust schedules and section times throughout the year due to being an online international school. Especially after day light savings, we must adjust some courses to meet international student and teacher's local time zones because they do not have day light savings. This update is literally crippling to the way we manage schedules.

We occasionally have a special day crop up where we change a schedule. This will be a problem!
