Split Fees between families just like tuition

Many split families who are dividing tuition are also dividing incidental fees. A fee applied to a student with two linked family accounts should split the fees just like tuition. Currently, these fees are duplicated so the student is effectively billed twice. We would benefit from the ability to customize splits for each family, including which items are split and what percentages. In split households, one parent is often responsible for tuition while another handles other fees, etc.

i agree and the student should only be counted as one student, not two students

In Blackbaud's student billing, you could assign the percentages per any divorce decree and every time a charge was added to the students record, it would be automatically split up based on the percentage and nothing more was to be done.  Now with our manual system (aka Smart Tuition) you have to remember for every parent that is split, then do the math, then click about 5 times into one account, then go into the other account and click 5 more times just to get one charge in.  This system is not user friendly or efficient, it's very manual and time consuming.
