Must have ability to hide First Name in Directory!

We need the ability to hide first names from view in the Directory, ideally for all students who have a nickname. Consider, for example, a transgender student who is known by a nickname; while the school needs to keep the legal first name in the database for official school records, showing the first name to students and teachers makes the school responsible for violating that student's privacy.

    This is crucial if we want to be an inclusive community. Please consider allowing platform managers the ability to hide first names.

    This is key. If you allowed the student the ability to hide their first name in the directory under privacy settings it could solve that problem. Right now, hiding the first name to default to the preferred name is not available as an option.
