When parents set their contact information to not being shared with others and then they enroll a new student, their contact information is automatically set back to shared.  Of course this upsets and confuses parents who know that they have set their address, phone, etc to not be displayed and then find out that it is accessible to others in the directory.  When looking at each of the accounts of this happening I have found that each one has recently applied a new child to the school.  Need to have a way that their settings do not change upon enrolling a new child.
