When a teacher is on the assignments tab and reviewing previous assignments, the assignments are listed from oldest to newest assignments. If there are a large number of assignments, the list is truncated and a "View More" button is listed at the bottom. I have attached a couple screenshot so you know what area I am referring to.
If a teacher wants to review the most recent assignments, they may have to click "View More" multiple times to get to the bottom of the list, which adds extra clicks. The teacher workflow could be improved by replacing the "View More" option at the bottom with "View All" and/or "View Recent." View all would completely expand the list of assignments so the teacher could scroll the list without needing to click "View More" again, while the "View recent button could display the 20 most recent previous assignments.
Another approach to resolving this issue would be to reverse the list of assignments so that the most recent showed at the top and the oldest showed at the bottom. I will say that there are several areas in the system where this change in order should be implemented. The other area that comes to mind is the attendance list in academics.
Hi all, we will be releasing the new assignment center this coming Tuesday which will have different options for filtering and sorting and is hopefully much more user-friendly. And the BEST part about it is that once you get your view the way you want it for how you typically work, i.e. last month, last # of days, a certain date range and sorted the way you want with the columns you need it will remember it when you navigate away so that you don't have to do it every time you hit that page - even when you end your session and log back in.
I agree...having to click several times to reach the most current assignments is annoying...having the option to keep the sortable order from most recent to oldest seems like good sense.
You can click "sortable order" and then the "due" arrow (twice), but more options would be good.
The "date range" option is helpful, but I agree: REVERSE the list of assignments to most recent (and or future) at the top of the list to the oldest at the end of the list.
As teachers add assignments this process of adding additional clicks to the grading process feels unnecessary. Much like the common option available when viewing lists on websites, it would b helpful to have a "View all" option... The inversion option may also be helpful.
