Let teachers turn off the "s" in gradebook

A new feature in the gradebook has caused my gradebook to be busy and confusing. When students indicate that they have submitted an assignment, whether or not they actually have done so, the assignment gets an "s" next to it in my gradebook. I would like the ability to hide those s's as they are distracting from the comments I use in the gradebook.

Hi @Bernadette Shilliam we took away the 's' for ones that just were marked submitted by the students due to overwhelming feedback asking us to. Currently there is only an option of seeing the 's' on online submissions and assessments since the system knows that there was actually a submission. I'm not sure if that's answering your question but if not let me know.

Will the controls allow the assignments marked submitted by student come back if teacher wants to see them? Does that (the s) solve the problem of a non-online submissions being marked overdue?

Hi there, we rolled back the 's' status for assignments marked complete by students yesterday. We did leave the submitted status for online assignments and assessments because it was an ask in the community. We will however be adding controls in gradebook display settings so that teachers can hide those if they want to, and will be doing that in our upcoming sprint. But the student completed assignments should no longer be showing the icon already.
