Currently, teachers can put an assignment in a future marking period based on the assigned date for an assignment.  This is an issue because teachers that want to assign something the week before the card marking ends and have it affect the 2nd card marking grades have to assign the assignment in the 2nd quarter and could lead to problems with students, parents and teacher communication saying that teachers did not give students enough time to complete an assignment.   When communication is vital and easily accomplished through the online gradebook this could become a pitfall and hinder and negatively impact that communication.
