When a past student reapplies, the past student role is removed and the candidate role is added. However, changing the role makes it impossible to pull up the student's past academic record, because the People Finder in Academics only looks for users who have the Student or Past Student roles. We need a way to be able to pull past academic records for candidates who had previously attended, as this is a significant component of evaluating the candidate's application.
We cannot pull the Grading Report for Student Test Scores when a past student is a candidate. We can view the test scores by using Diane Holeman's trick listed here, but we cannot pull that specific report.
By the way, thanks to Diane Holeman for the outstanding trick the system idea that really works! It would be nice to have a direct search in people finder though.
This is still an issue for admissions teams. We cannot pull up candidates who were former students in the Academics people finder. There is no role that fits their current situation and we do not wish to accept them without more information. Could this be considered for future implementation please? Thank you!
The divisions need to be able to look up any of their past students independent of their current role. Not all past students who go through the admission process do re-enroll back into the Student role.
Definitely needed. We have learned how to "trick" the system, if you look up the candidate in Core and copy their User id number, then go to Academics, look up a current student, and paste the former student-candidate's id number into the webpage address, you can access the former student's academic records. You cannot search via their id number, but you can replace with their id in the address. Very convoluted, but it works.
Any progress on this?
Yes, please!
This would be so helpful. We run into this multiple times each year!
