Inactive Candidates and Applying

We were using the Enroll/Inactivate tool, but in doing so, this locks the Candidate and their parents profiles, so that they are unable to login. Many Candidates will inquire about a year, but may not attend, and want to apply for the next year. But by inactivating them, we are not able to apply, and must be manually unlocked. We would like to know what we should do moving forward.

Sarah, I just wanted to clarify if this includes the parents of the candidate?

Hi there! This morning we've added automatic account re-enablement when a candidate is re-applied from the re-apply wizard. No action needed on your part, it will happen as part of the re-apply/reactivate process.

    thank you,

    Sarah

Unfortunately, it appears there are several "ideas" in the bank related to this same topic. If we could combine all of them, perhaps there would be enough votes for Blackbaud to take notice. This is a huge issue that causes unnecessary hassle for both reapplying families and admission offices.

I think there should be an option when inactivating the Candidate to be able to chose to keep account active. I think it would be better to leave it defaulted to keep active and give the choice to disable the account as most schools want to be able to allow their users to re apply :)

I like the idea of bulk unlock. I could add it to my periodic task of adding usernames and temp passwords to Parents of Candidates.

Adding a way to bulk unlock users, or have the reactivate function unlock them would be quite the time saver for many of our schools

We would like to have the option to disable the login or to allow login ability upon inactivating the candidate and their parents.  We know we can reactivate their logins one-by-one, but this is tedious and time-consuming.  We could save time if allowed the option to not inactivate the candidate family.

We just went through this process and our past candidates and their families have been locked out again.  This is very disappointing especially after having gone through this exact issue with Blackbaud K-12 support less that a year ago. Last year our Customer Support Analyst, Tim Walker, was able to re-enable all of our past candidates to ensure they would be able to login and re-apply. I am hoping that the same service will be available to us again this year, as we were told "this isn't something that should occur again in the future".

It is disappointing that this is still an issue after a year. Ideally, this would be resolved before we begin our application process again in August. Please look into this for us.

A year later and this is still an issue! Very disappointing.....

Our admission office has made this same observation and would like to see this added as an enhancement too.
