A new assignment has the defaults "Publish grade" and "Add to cumulative grade" checked. However, if I uncheck "Add to gradebook" then check it again, those two checkboxes are unchecked. Please keep the the two defaults checked, especially since there is no easy way to see that an assignment is unpublished.
