Unable to delete Official Notes drafts

I would like to see a way to delete Official Notes drafts. There isn't any documentation in the Help Center or training resources at this time regarding a way to do this.

The current system does not allow for deletion of official note drafts. The only way to delete is after they have been sent. This is crazy. If I want to delete, why would I want to send? This idea has been active since 2015...ALMOST 10 YEARS! I wonder why this has not happened yet?? Seems like an easy fix.

Please allow an official note author to delete a draft of a note. Sending them for approval in order to delete creates unnecessary work for the approver.

I would like to be able to delete a draft version of "official notes"

This would be handy, right now I encourage my team to edit a draft the next time they want to send an unused official note draft (completely change the recipient and info accordingly) or "remove" drafts by sending them to an example student that isn't tied to anything so it doesn't ping any parents, advisors, or administrators.

If you can save a draft, you should be able to discard it, though. BB team, thanks for your consideration on this one!

We encourage/require our faculty to use ON to communicate certain information to students and families. The fact that they have to rely on me as an admin to delete them is not efficient and can be detrimental if a note was sent in error or to the wrong student. This should definitely be added as an enhancement.

I would like to see this also. That Under consideration needs to change to Under construction!

Here's a workaround: Uncheck all of the boxes for that official note if you are allowed to. Save the draft again and see if it remains unchecked. If so, you can "send" it and then in Approve official notes, you can delete it.

It is ridiculous that a draft cannot be deleted! Similarly, once a draft to multiple people is saved, you now have a bazillion individual drafts! We should still have the option to modify the draft as one. If not, at least provide a warning that this will happen!

I agree, reaching out to support for something that seems so simple is ridiculous and time-consuming.

This request has been bouncing around for 5 years!?

As of 10/28/2020 I see that it is marked "under consideration." I really hope that this makes it to development! A draft should always be something that is optional to send or discard.

    Absolutely this should be possible.

The fact that you can't delete a draft from the side of the author seems like a major oversight...at the very least you should be able to review the notes and filter to drafts and delete them for a user so they are not just hanging out there forever.

I can't believe that this is still an issue! How is there do way to delete?!

Just checked with Blackbaud today on how to do this and was sent here. Please make this a feature. Seems very obvious we need this.

Highly requested from callers on the Support Side. At this time the Note must be sent for approval to be deleted as a "Draft".

Apparently, it is not currently possible to delete Academic Official Notes according to their support.

Pretty glaring omission.  Seems more like a bug than an enhancement request.
