The ability to delete drafts was added for Comments Managers with the update to the Manage Official Notes page. Draft notes will appear in this list and can be deleted using the context menu. We will continue to review other areas where official notes appear to displaying drafts and allowing their deletion is appropriate for Comment Managers or other roles.
Thank you for the feedback!
Great news for Enrollment Management users! A new Official Notes list in EMS is in development with a plan to release later this year. On that new list, drafts will be displayed and be available to delete.
I was the original requestor of this back in 2015. I needed it for Enrollment Management, not Academics. Please implement it for Enrollment Management ASAP. Thank you!!
Please add this feature to the Enrollment Management Official Notes as well.
Why is there not something like this for Enrollment Management's Official Notes?
Thank you!
Thanks!
Hard to believe the request to have the ability to delete a draft of an official message has been out there since 2018. I just saved my first official message draft today assuming it would be a single draft to the class but received back a saved draft for every student in the class with no way to delete. Wow.
Nobody likes having old drafts in their house! Help us keep our data houses clean by allowing deletion of unwanted drafts. Thank you!
This continues to be an issue. There should be a way for teachers to delete drafts of their official notes.
I have a teacher who accidentally put an older sister as the recipient. She can't do anything in the draft to fix that and it just gets stuck in her drafts.
The current system does not allow for deletion of official note drafts. The only way to delete is after they have been sent. This is crazy. If I want to delete, why would I want to send? This idea has been active since 2015...ALMOST 10 YEARS! I wonder why this has not happened yet?? Seems like an easy fix.
Please allow an official note author to delete a draft of a note. Sending them for approval in order to delete creates unnecessary work for the approver.
I would like to be able to delete a draft version of "official notes"
This would be handy, right now I encourage my team to edit a draft the next time they want to send an unused official note draft (completely change the recipient and info accordingly) or "remove" drafts by sending them to an example student that isn't tied to anything so it doesn't ping any parents, advisors, or administrators.
If you can save a draft, you should be able to discard it, though. BB team, thanks for your consideration on this one!
We encourage/require our faculty to use ON to communicate certain information to students and families. The fact that they have to rely on me as an admin to delete them is not efficient and can be detrimental if a note was sent in error or to the wrong student. This should definitely be added as an enhancement.
I would like to see this also. That Under consideration needs to change to Under construction!
Here's a workaround: Uncheck all of the boxes for that official note if you are allowed to. Save the draft again and see if it remains unchecked. If so, you can "send" it and then in Approve official notes, you can delete it.
It is ridiculous that a draft cannot be deleted! Similarly, once a draft to multiple people is saved, you now have a bazillion individual drafts! We should still have the option to modify the draft as one. If not, at least provide a warning that this will happen!
I agree, reaching out to support for something that seems so simple is ridiculous and time-consuming.
This request has been bouncing around for 5 years!?
As of 10/28/2020 I see that it is marked "under consideration." I really hope that this makes it to development! A draft should always be something that is optional to send or discard.
Absolutely this should be possible.
