Official Notes for Incoming Students

I have no way to connect with incoming families except Pushpage which is a less than Ideal situation.

I would like Incoming Students to have the ability to receive Official Notes in onBoard as they are a pending family and there is no other place to allow this.

I would also like to be able to add notes to Past Candidates as well as Incoming Students. And very often, such notes do not mean to be communicated to that student or parent.

I would like to be able to compose official notes for past candidates and past students. I know that I could use a "sticky note" in the student's profile, but I want all of the information within official notes. We use the official notes to keep track of past students/candidates in case they want to return to the school.

Please see all of the EM "Official Note" requests since "implemented". I believe this has not been implemented with the capabilities that are being asked for.

I see that this idea has been marked "implemented" but I don't believe the intent of this Idea was really fulfilled.  Yes, official notes can be send to students in Academics, but these are not visible in Enrollment Management.   Our Admissions folks (who live in Enrollment Management and not Academics) want to be able to send official notes to existing students.  For example, if an existing lower school student attends one of our upper school open houses, our Admissions folks want to track this in Enrollment Management and send them the same "thank you" official note that they would to any other open house candidate, but they are not able.

This appears to be an obvious oversight in design as it sort of puts Incoming students in limbo.

Unless an accepted candidate becomes an incoming student, the parent cannot see the Resources Page, where we store lots tuition information, policies and handbooks and other relevant information. To do course selection, a candidate must also be enrolled as an incoming student. The fact that once this happens you can no longer send an official note through onBoard is very frustrating as there is still information that needs to go out to all 'newly accepted' students coming from admissions, etc.

I also feel that official notes in onBoard and onRecord are completely different things and find it confusing that they have the same name!!

Definitely should be a feature in onBoard. It is our Admissions staff who continues to communicate with incoming students; they should not need to go to onRecord to do that. We turn accept-accept candidates into incoming students soon after the process is done so that parents have access to additional items.

This is a clear hole in the system regarding the Official Notes function - either allow the note to be applied within OnBoard after a student is enrolled for the following academic year, OR allow the note to be applied within OnRecord. This is our way of keeping a record of all important communications during the admissions process, hard to see why this is disengaged after being enrolled until the next academic year goes live.
