This idea was implemented as part of our recent Gradebook and Assignment Details updates! Check out the What's New letter, Back to School guide, and this video to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trXxu7uTodM&ab_channel=BlackbaudSupport

How is this not a basic feature‽  Three years and still not implemented?  I would think that it would take a few minutes to implement.

This feature benefits parents as well because when they see an assignment without a grade, they wonder if their child turned it in.  This way, they know the teacher has it but has not yet graded it.  This is especially helpful when a student turns in an assignment that was missing--the teacher can indicate that it was received but doesn't have to stop and grade it right away.

This was a HUGE loss when we moved from PowerSchool to this platform. Some teachers create a duplicate assignment for each assignment that is a one point flag to indicate reception. Not an elegant solution. Shouldn't systems focus on providing better feedback and, where possible, POSITIVE feedback to students instead of only negative flags.

    Highly requested feature among teachers!

Agreed. This saves a lot of time and let's the students see that I have received their assignments and that they only need to wait for it to be graded.

Totally agree.  This is a basic function of the other two platforms I have used and it was hugely beneficial both for me and the students.
